The Minimice books
Christel has written several books about The Minimice. The author makes all the mice, their stubs, the food and other miniatures in the books. In fact all are created in the tiny dollhouse 1:12 scale. It is made to look as real as possible and with amazing details in every picture.
From her foreword in the book The Minimice in The Garden of Lace:
As a child I spent many hours with my grandparents. In the summertime we went to an island just outside Bergen called Askoey. I have so many great memories from this place. I often found myself playing around in the nature nearby our cottage and believed that there was this magical place for the little animals. I created little places with twigs and rocks and let my imagination run wild. It never stopped. Suddenly as an adult the fantasy seems to still trigger and The Minimice was born. A journey that has taken me many years to fulfill.
The Minimice in The Garden of Lace

Toad and Poppy Move into the Garden
Toad and Poppy travelled with their caravan from the west coast of the country for the big summer party held in The Garden of Lace. They fell in love with The Minimice and the surroundings and decided to stay. With a lot of help from family and friends they made a mushroom into their new home. Christmas Cottage
The Minimice celebrate Christmas with the mountain mice. They travel up north from the garden of lace to the cozy cottage in the mountains. During the festive holiday they share and teach each other delicious Christmas recipes.
The Barn Tower Gnome
The Minimice are known to always have delicious fresh ingredients when baking. They are friends with a barn tower gnome who they trade with. He gets cakes, breads, nuts and fruits, and in return the mice get milk, cream and cheese from the gnome. They travel as often as needed to the barn, and during Christmas it’s always wonderful to have some extra for the many treats they plan to make.
